Study Of the Physical Properties, Crystal Structure, Chemical Composition and Application of Mixture of Ninivite Silica Rocks with Iraqi Fuller’s Earth

Abstract

X-ray powder diffraction, x-ray fluorescence, infrared spectroscopy,
thermogravimetric, differential thermal analysis, and chemical analysis were performed
to study the physical properties, crystal structure and chemical composition of silica rich
Ninivite silica rocks and Iraqi natural Fuller’s earth.
The results were compared with that obtained from mixing the two samples in a
ratio 1:1. These samples have been used as adsorbents in fractionating columns to
fractionate Qaiyarah Heavy Crude (QHC) Oils into their simple components.
