Synthesis and Characterization of Some Transition Metals Complexes with 1,2-Bis-[3-(Phenyl Amino)-5-Imino-1,2,4-Thiadiazolyl] Ethene

Abstract

A new Schiff base, 1,2-bis-[3-(phenyl amino)-5-imino-1,2,4-thiadiazolyl] ethene, was
prepared, which was used as ligand to prepare a number of metal complexes of Cr(III),
Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II). The products were isolated, studied
and characterized by FT.I.R. spectroscopy, electronic spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility
measurements, conductivity measurements, melting point and elemental analysis (C.H.N.M.).
