Decolorization of Bromophenolblue Dye Under UV- Radiation with ZnO as Catalyst

Abstract

In this research, the efficiency of ZnO by photocatalytic degradation of
bromophenolblue dye was studied. Effects of some parameters such as, catalyst concentration
,dye concentration , irradiation time ,and pH on the degradation rate of dye solution were also
examined. In addition, the feature of bromophenolblue dye was studied by using UV-Vis
spectroscopy techniques. Adsorption is a prerequisite for the metal oxide-mediated
photodegradation/photodecolorization and the extent of decolorization has been discussed in
terms of the Langmuir-Hinshelwood model
